Laurinha and Sulivão are brothers and the main characters of these stories.
They live with their parents in the city, but make the most of their vacations and holidays traveling around and learning about the world that surrounds them.
 
Calhabéus is the first book of this collection.
Laurinha and Sulivão spend their holidays with their paternal grandmother, Rita Tirapicos, who lives in an old house built of stones, perched on a hill, in northern Portugal.
One day, grandma Rita suggests their grandchildren to take a walk to see the boulders nearby. Laurinha and Sulivão don't hesitate a second and leave in search of adventure with their grandmother's donkey.
They will cross Portugal, from north to south and get to know some of the most interesting rocks and stones of the country.
